The Cyber Acoustics CA-3602FFP is an amazing sound system that offers top quality audio at surprisingly affordable rates. It features an attractive design that slots into any room comfortably, which makes it the ideal setup for games, movies, and much more. It also features a handy central control pod that ensures that you are never too far away from your music.

The Cyber Acoustics CA-3602FFP is a powerful but cost-effective way to upgrade your audio system. The 2 flat satellite speakers are compact enough that you can set them up by your TV or on your desk but they still produce an impressive amount of sound. The 2-way two-inch-high efficiency drivers produce a crisp sound that does not distort as much as expected at high volumes. The speakers are actually wireless, which makes it easy to set them up anywhere in your room to ensure maximum effectiveness.

The system’s subwoofer is quite impressive and cranks out solid bass courtesy of the 5.25-inch Power Pro bass driver. It comes housed in a black wooded cabinet that easily slots into your living room or under any desk. The power is authentically impressive while the adjustable settings allow for optimization to your preferred experience.

The control pod is one feature that has impressed users a lot. The device allows you to control different aspects of the sound system without the need to get up from your seat. It features master volume, aux input, bass volume, and headphone out, which means that it covers all the critical bases. It is an excellent idea and especially useful for users of PCs. Everybody understands the frustration associated with fiddling around with outputs and inputs, searching for the right wires, and reaching out at the computer’s back. The control pod brings everything in one easy to reach spot, which saves you both effort and time.

The only key drawback is the lack of independent control over the mid and high ranges, but it is not the end of the world. You can easily make any desired adjustments using your TV or PC equalizer.

Pros
  • Control pod has a headphone out
  • High-quality audio at an incredibly affordable price
  • Cost-effective but still powerful
  • The 2-way 2-inch-high efficiency drivers produce crisp sound
Cons
  • Easily attracts dust
  • Mid-range feels drowned out by both the lows and highs
  • The design of the satellite speakers is not one to inspire confidence

One of the most important considerations in a wireless sound system is how well it sounds. It goes without saying that sometimes the music from a wireless speaker is distorted and cloudy and only seems to worsen as the volume is turned up. The OontZ Angle 3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker completely eliminates the problem. It’s able to distinguish the mid-range and highs using 2 precision acoustic drivers and produces perfect stereo sound due to it. Everything becomes amazingly crystal clear.

The bass on this sound system is rich and thick and never overpowers the treble aspects of the sound. To accomplish this, the speaker uses a passive bass radiator design. Even at maximum volume, it is still possible to hear all aspects of the music perfectly, even when you stream music online. It is an incredibly powerful speaker with an in-built microphone, which means that you can hook it up to your phone and then use it as a speaker phone.

The OontZ Angle 3 Portable is highly portable, weighing just 10 ounces and measuring just 5 inches in length. This allows for easy storage just about anywhere in a bag or backpack. You can even tuck it into the cup holder of your vehicle when traveling. It comes equipped with a powerful 2200mAh battery that can retain its charge for up to 12 hours, which means that you won’t ever have to worry about carrying your USB charger with you wherever you go. It also does not have square edges, which makes it comfortable and simple to carry when you go camping or hiking. What makes it even better is the fact that it connects over Bluetooth is just several seconds, which means that you can turn it on and be good to go almost instantly. If you wish to plug it into your old iPod or an MP3 player that isn’t Bluetooth enabled, it is possible to do so using the 3.5mm audio cable that’s provided thus making the speaker a true catchall with regards to versatility and portability.

If you are a person that loves carrying your Bluetooth speakers with you wherever you go, you will love the fact that the OontZ Angle 3 Portable is water resistant too. Since it is highly portable, you can take it down by the pool, in the rain, in the shower, or even on a boat. It is also sand and dust resistant, which makes it ideal for both beach and general outdoor listening.

Pros
  • Solid construction
  • Rich bass quality
  • Measures just 5 inches in length
  • No distortion
  • Lasts up to 12 hours on one charge
  • Rounded edges make it easy to carry
  • In-built microphone for hands-free calls
  • Aux cord for compatibility with devices that aren’t Bluetooth enabled
  • Water resistant; perfect for showers, beaches, pools, and more
  • Uses universal micro-USB charging
  • 2 Precision acoustic drivers ensure ultimate sound clarity
Cons
  • Reports of water damage. Splash damage is perfectly fine, but nothing further.

3. AmazonBasics USB-Powered Computer SpeakersBest Budget & Best Computer Speakers under $20

No products found. Please click on the title to get product information.

Amazon’s store brand, AmazonBasics, has several useful and affordably-priced products. The brand offers amazing value for money, which is the case with the AmazonBasics PC speakers too. The simple plug-and-play set has all the basic traits for connecting to a computer. The quality of audio surpasses the expectations from the price.

The AmazonBasics PC speakers come in 2 models: USB powered (A100) and AC powered (A150). If you are a more casual listener that uses a laptop, the USB option will be more useful as well as portable. The speakers power on and off with your computer. It is also possible to avoid having a wire nest around your workspace. Otherwise, just hook up the A100 to AC power close to your desktop PC. The speakers, however, look simple as most other products from the store brand. The body of the speakers is completely black while the front side has the speaker grille on the whole surface. Users feel that Amazon could have done better in the aesthetics department.

A volume knob is found in the front of one of the speakers. Right under the volume knob you will find a 3.5mm headphone jack that’s to be used if you wish to listen in private. It also comes with a 3.5mm stereo audio cable attached to it for a PC connection. The cables are sufficiently long to allow for proper speaker placement. These computer speakers only occupy minimal space on your computer desk and feature robust construction that feels durable.

The AmazonBasics computer speakers are loved by many due to their audio. Each of the speakers has a 2.5W power output, which totals 5W for the pair. The sound gets loud enough close to the desk and can be easily heard in a small room. Lower-registers are powerful enough so that the audio sounds full and don’t sound tiny like small speakers often do. The mid-range has sufficient clarity for the price. For casual listeners, there isn’t any noticeable muddiness.

Pros
  • Comes with a headphone jack
  • Long cords
  • Both AC-powered and USB-powered options available
  • Highly affordable
Cons
  • Plain-looking

4. Logitech Z313 Speaker SystemBest for Value

No products found. Please click on the title to get product information.

Logitech has managed to build a niche for itself in affordable computer speakers. In the price range listed, Z313 speakers deliver exceptional sound for an entry-level system.

First, it is important to look at the speakers themselves. The Z313 features an attractive design in silver and black that easily slots into any computer setup or living room. It is quite a shame that the speakers don’t feature a flat design since that allows for more room. Flat speakers mounted on a small, stable stand are currently all the rage and have actually started to overtake the chunky block designs. However, the Z313 speakers are relatively compact, which means that it is not a major issue. 25 watts of sound is definitely impressive in terms of power and at this price range you will be glad to find something with that much force behind it.

The subwoofer comes housed in a compact wooden box. It is small enough that it fits comfortably under any desk or into a corner by the TV. In spite of the small size, it definitely puts out enough sound. Together with the speakers, the sound quality is simply exceptional. There’s little sound of distortion at high volumes and the subwoofer is capable of comfortably handling anything that you throw at it.

The control pod is a handy inclusion in the package. They are slowly becoming standard with home sound systems and it isn’t hard to see why. They give your total control, without the need to get up from your seat. You can easily increase/decrease volume, and even manage any outputs and inputs with minimal fuss.

You can even choose the Logitech Z313 Speaker System with the Bluetooth audio adapter bundle from Logitech. It will allow you to connect to the speaker system wirelessly from your tablet or phone. You can effectively turn the entire thing into a single, massive, Internet powered jukebox. It is one very handy feature that reduces the hassle of having to connect a PC or laptop to the system.

Pros
  • Compact satellite speakers
  • Comes with a control pod
  • No sibilance or distortion
  • Natural response and punchy bass
Cons
  • No bass level control
  • Lean treble

  • USB Connectivity. Audio Power Output-1.2 Horsepower. Number of...
  • Built-in Controls
  • 90 Hz - 20 kHz Frequency Response
  • USB cable (1.2 m), Power Output : 0.6 Watt

This is a speaker that has a great looking design that connects with a USB cord. The speakers will help you get everything that you are going to want to have. The product comes in at 17.8 x 14.6 x 17.1 inches.

It does not have any type of ear phone connection. This is going to have a 1.2 watts as the total RMS power. The volume is loud enough and it does not have the hum or buzz at louder sounds. The people love the fact this provides a stereo type of sound. They are streamlined and this makes it easier for you to listen to music in a smaller area. The frequency will typically be found between 90 Hz and 20 kHz.

You may think this is inexpensive and they will not be that good, but you need to realize that not everything that is good is expensive. You will find that this is a great item that can be seen as cheap and small, but it definitely has some great sound.

If you want to find something that is small and cheap, but has great sound quality then you have found the right thing to get!

Pros
  • USB is the advanced digital: This is going to allow you to get the premium sounds that you want to have with different audio functions.
  • Ease in use: the system is built in and easy to access buttons that are going to allow you to control the sound without much effort.
  • Excellent quality: this is something that is going to be great because it allows you to get some great sound with the compact design that you will love.
Cons
  • Cords are weak: the cords are not strong and they can break if they are not carefully used.
  • Bass is low: this is something that is lacking here as it does not have the option to get the great bass sound you would want to have.
  • No jack for headphones.

6. Altec Lansing BXR1220 2-Piece Desktop Speaker System – Best Computer Speakers under $30

Sale
Altec Lansing BXR1221 2.1 Speaker System (Black)
  • Each satellite speaker measures 2.8 x 3.7 x 4.8 inches, subwoofer...
  • Built-in power and volume controls
  • Separate subwoofer adds impact and depth
  • Compact 3-piece speaker system for laptops and desktops
  • Audio Alignment technology for balance and accuracy

This is a great item that will not quit on you no matter what your budget it. They are going to have the same great sound even at a price that is low for the BXR1220 speakers for the computer. These are going to have a type of architecture that is kind of funky, but will allow you to get the great sounds when you are at your desk. You will find these are powered by a USB cord and can eliminate the wire mess behind your computer. These are also very light weight which allows you to have a great product that you can bring around with you.

These are also going to be noted as having a very innovative type of design. These will have some very cool controls and have a great look like sentinels standing guard. These will even have a stage light type of look to them. They do have a structure that is cylindrical so you can lay it on its side. They are going to be 8 inches long and are very thin. The grille for the speaker has a round face. These will look like they are propped up on a metal stand. The audio is going to come straight out and up towards you. The stand is not adjustable and the angle is fixed. That is one downside is we would like to be able to angle them as we want them.

The speakers are USB powered. These are going to have the USB cable as being hard wired into the right speaker. This will have a volume wheel that is above the speaker and the power button is in the backside. The stereo and power cable is 4.5 feet long. The speakers distance in between them is 3.5 feet. The speakers do not have a headphone jack, but that is not a major issues. The absence of a secondary aux-in port was the disappointing factor here.

The Altec Lansing does offer the same quality of sound you would expect from the company. The volume can be loud enough if you are in front of the desk. However, this would not be the speaker that would work for you with a lot of teens at a party. You will find it does have a lower end taut control that does not allow it to spill into the mids, which is a common mistake for speakers in this price range. The clarity is decent for the middle of the road style of speakers and it is definitely one the listener will like.

The sound is fairly well balanced with this model and natural sounding. You will find the bass is not a guttural type of sound, but it does a good job for the price. You will find this allow it to lie on the higher end of speakers.

Pros
  • Lightweight and compact size.
  • The power and audio both come from the USB cord.
  • The audio sound is good quality.
  • The speakers have a stylish design.
Cons
  • Does hot have an aux-in or headphone jack.

Has a set up that is a true treat on the eyes. This is a speaker set up that is one of a kind with the way that it is going to look and the design. You will find that it has more than just the great looking design. You will want to know what to expect.

Find out more about what you can see in this speaker. The satellite speakers are going to have a great sound at 5 watts and the subwoofer will have an additional 10 watts. This is quite a bit of power for the speaker and often enough to get your entertainment done. The sound is good, but does have a little bit of distortion on the higher end, but nothing really bad at all on the low end. The Gogroove does have a lot left to be desired when you are looking at the sound quality. The hardware uses the magnets of neodymium which is even more impressive.

You will find that the BassPulse does have a great looking design to it. You will find the LED lights that are blue and made into the speakers give it a great futuristic look and appeal. You will find the lights with the black plastic look are going to make it great for any background you are going to put it into. It only gets better. When you get the bass above the eighty percent mark the LED lights will start to pulse with the actual beat and time of the music. This is one hell of a great system and one that we would love to have in our office.

The one thing that we do not really care for with the computer speaker system is it does not have a great wireless system. This is something that comes standard on most systems so you can move it where you want it to be located at. That is not the end of the world though. You will find the set up is easy and the product looks great, but even with the wires it was not a big problem.

Pros
  • Has a great design that is nice.
  • The sound is fairly good at different levels.
  • You can use a USB connection.
  • The 3.5 mm jack makes it easier for you to connect other devices.
Cons
  • The treble sounds can start to get distorted when the sound is high.
  • The speakers are fragile in construction.
  • They do not have any type of separate controls to adjust the bass or treble.

Combine attractive looks with quality materials and premium features and you’ve got a speaker package that really delivers superb value for its price. Want to learn a little more?

The unitary design of the ELEGIANT Sound Bar is undoubtedly its most eye-catching feature. In a market where most speaker systems separate out individual speakers and the subwoofer into discrete units, the ELEGIANT puts everything into one bar. It’s designed to be especially convenient for placement underneath a monitor, but the ELEGIANT can really go anywhere. Thanks to the USB power connection, low batteries aren’t something you ever have to worry about. The USB connection is used strictly for power; the ELEGIANT Sound Bar is a one-step plug-and-play install; it doesn’t oblige you to install any software on your computer. Just plug it in and enjoy premium-quality sound.

For its size, the ELEGIANT Sound Bar delivers excellent output. Each of its main speakers is a 3-watt unit, which is surprisingly robust for a small computer system. The ELEGIANT delivers a crisp sound profile with surprisingly strong bass and fairly good highs.  The sound the ELEGIANT Sound Bar produces is still more than good enough to make it worth its asking price.

Pros
  • Attractive design
  • Compact and easy to place
  • Good sound profile with decent highs
  • Quality materials
  • Easily blends into most environments
  • Fast set-up
  • Highly affordable
Cons
  • Product does not include English instructions
  • No Bluetooth
  • No remote control
  • Bass reproduction is somewhat subpart

  • COMPATIBILITY - supports all computers and laptops with a USB port and...

Satechi’s simple computer speakers are a superb way to significantly enhance your computer’s audio capabilities without breaking the bank. The Satechi Dual Sonic Speakers blend into pretty much any desk and deliver decent audio performance. It’s the surprisingly low price that really makes Satechi’s speakers attractive to users, so it’s not surprising that a lot of owners have tried out Satechi Dual Sonic Speakers.

Let’s start by looking at Satechi’s design. The speaker units are solidly made from glossy plastic, and they have a respectable heft to them. Despite their small size, they deliver impressively loud sound. That small form factor is a notable advantage offered by the Satechi Dual Sonic Speakers; they can fit practically anywhere. Satechi uses Acoustic Air Spring technology to deliver decent volume and range from each speaker. While each unit delivers only 1.5 watts, together they do an admirable job of boosting your computer’s sound capabilities.

One factor that has to count against the Satechi Dual Sonic Speakers is that the product does not include a subwoofer. This held the system back and put a sharp (and relatively low) ceiling on its overall performance. Keeping that significant limitation in mind, the Satechi speakers delivered a fairly impressive amount of bass. All things considered, this is a straightforward product designed to meet a simple need. It gets the sound out of a computer or laptop in an affordable and listenable fashion, and that’s all we were looking for. We didn’t pick up the Satechi Dual Sonic Speakers expecting them to deliver a game-changing stereophonic experience, and so we weren’t disappointed with the somewhat run-of-the-mill audio performance.

Satechi offers the Dual Sonic Speaker 2.0 Channel Computer Speakers in both black and silver cases. Having the option available is a nice touch, and you can fit these speakers a little better to your desktop aesthetic by selecting the proper option when you order them. The speakers also feature Blue LEDs to deliver a little touch of style along with your sound.

Pros
  • Nice build quality and weight
  • Straightforward setup
  • Convenient and cheap
  • Blue LED lights indicate the speakers’ power status and look pretty stylish, too
Cons
  • System doesn’t include a subwoofer
  • Power output limited to 1.5 watts per speaker
  • Lots of potentially unsightly cables

10. Logitech Speaker System Z323 with Subwoofer

  • Ported, down-firing subwoofer delivers deep, rich bass....
  • RCA and 3.5 mm inputs for easy connections to gaming console, DVD...
  • Integrated headphone jack for private listening. Subwoofer - 18W....
  • 30 Watt (RMS) of power produces big, bold full-range sound

Logitech’s Speaker System Z323 is definitely worth talking about when we consider the sub-$50 computer speaker market. Right from the start, you should know that this system DOES include a subwoofer.

Logitech’s own marketing boasts that the Z323 speaker system has “Logitech 360-degree sound technology.” Giving the Z323 speaker system a try suggested to us that Logitech wasn’t just blowing smoke with that description. Firing up the Logitech Z323 fills the whole room with clear and forceful audio. We especially appreciated the high volume on the high pitch from the satellite drivers.

Both the quantity and the quality of the bass produced by the subwoofer were extremely impressive. Maximum power for the system as a whole goes up to 30 watts, and at max volume that translates to serious noise and the sort of deep bass that you can feel from several rooms away.

The Logitech Speaker System Z323 is eager to connect to your computer. Alternatively, you can also hook it up to game consoles, or any multimedia device (e.g. DVD player, iPod, etc) with standard audio hookups. It’s all thanks to the 3.5 mm AUX input jack Logitech thoughtfully included with the Z323 Speaker System. The speakers have a separate headphone jack as well, allowing you to connect two devices simultaneously.

There are on-speaker controls for bass, mid, and treble, and the one-connect system makes installation a breeze. The compact design of each component saves space, making this system perfect for cramped installations.

The Logitech Speaker System Z323 is out to bust the myth that cheap computer speakers can’t deliver great sound quality. Its superb speakers and potent subwoofer finally allow you to get premium performance out of a bargain-priced speaker system.

Pros
  • Compact design saves space
  • Superb bass
  • Perfect for gaming
Cons
  • No volume control on the speakers themselves

Comprehensive Buying Guide For The Best Computer Speakers

2.0 vs. 2.1

A 2.0 sound system is basically made up of a right and left speaker but no subwoofer. With such a system, you should expect to get limited dynamic bass output. However, if you are looking for a potable system, a huge subwoofer may make things a little bulky so you might as well opt not to have it.

Wired vs. Wireless

Bluetooth speakers are infamous for their somewhat low sound quality, however, these speakers make up for this shortfall by offering a lot of convenience and portability. Bluetooth speakers can come in really hand when you using your phone on speaker while also doing something on your computer. If you are multitasking junkie who regularly switches back and forth between their cell phone, tablet, laptop and desktop, these are the speakers for you. At the end of the day, you can conveniently carry your speaker home or leave it at your workstation overnight so that you can have a full-day charge for the next day.

Specs and Sound Quality

Currently, there are no standard or official testing and benchmarking criteria for speakers. This means that any such statistics may not offer the real idea on a sound system’s audio performance and quality. A good speakers system should ideally provide a good balance between bass (lower), midrange and treble (upper) frequencies. The speakers should produce a rich and full sound while maintaining detail. Bass has for a long time been the biggest shortfall of compact 2.0 speaker systems. Many manufacturers have been observed to increase bass frequencies, but this does not always work out as some speakers may end up sounding thumpy or boomy which is not the sound output you want.

Inputs

Most speaker systems come with a single audio input. However, there are speakers that come with a second audio input jack that you can use to connect your iPhone, iPod or other source.

Appearance

Appearance is not a big factor for many people shopping for speakers, but it can still be a deal breaker. It is good to note that some speakers may not appear exactly as they did on pictures. Most pictures you see only give you a general look in terms of shape, size and aesthetic features of the speakers in question. However, the appearance of the speakers should not deviate significantly from what you see in the pictures.

Controls

Some speakers come with in-built controls such as a power button, bass, treble and volume controls. These controls on the speakers can be very useful as they not only allow you to customize the sound depending on your needs and tastes but also have the convenience of being able to turn down the volume quickly if need be.

Price

With computer speakers, the saying ‘you get what you pay for’ does not always apply. There are many fairly priced speakers that offer awesome sound quality. But, on the other hand, there are some really terrible speakers with some really high price tags.

USB Power

USB Power is a great feature to have on computer speakers but you should first establish the kind of computer you will be using the speakers with. USB Power allows you to plug your speakers directly into your computer as a power source rather than using the conventional power outlet. This is all well and good but some computers, like the new MacBook Pros, no longer come with USB ports.

FAQ

* Do All Computer Speaker Systems Have Subwoofers?

2.0 Speaker System: This is a sound system with 2 speakers that output all frequencies namely treble, midrange and bass frequencies. 2.0 speakers are average in size and are mostly placed on both sides of your PC. You do not need to set aside some extra space for these speakers. However, due to their size, they are very limited in terms of bass output. Bass frequencies range between 30 to 300 HZ. The sound quality may sound hollow which is not the case with 2.1 speakers.

2.1 Speaker System: This is a sound system with two satellite speakers and one subwoofer. The satellite speakers are significantly smaller than the subwoofer and are solely dedicated to handling mid and high frequencies. Because of this, these speakers may be smaller than 2.0 speakers. One downside with the 2.1 speaker set is that the subwoofer may be a bit huge so you have to make space for it under your desk. To get a good 2.1 speaker set, you need to have a good budget to work with. It is possible for the subwoofers to be boomy or overpowering over the satellite speakers. However, there are 2.1 sound systems that offer an excellent balance of frequencies. You can find some of them highlighted in our best computer speakers under 50 list.

* Why Do My Speakers Make A Buzzing Sound?

There are quite a number of reasons why your computer may be producing a buzz sound. The buzzing may mostly occur when the speakers are plugged in but not playing any sound. There are a few things you can do to get rid of the buzzing:

Grounding issues are the main causes of buzzing in computer speakers. Always use a 3-pin power adapter that has a good grounding connection.

Check to see whether all cables and ports are tightly fitted.

Eliminate any radio frequency transmitting devices such as phones from the speakers’ vicinity.

Move the speaker cables around to see if the buzzing stop. If it does, the cables are damage.

The problem can also be with the playback device. You can troubleshoot this by plugging in some headphones into the audio port of your PC and checking if the buzzing is still there. If yes, the problem is with your PC’s sound card.

Conclusion

We have listed down the best computer speakers under $50, for both desktops and laptops, that can be used for any number of computer tasks from gaming to music to movies and many more. However, the speakers we mentioned may not be the very best when compared to other more expensive models in the market today.
